Clinker Bricks
In early American brick firing kilns, the surface of the bricks that were too close to the fire changes into the volcanic textures and darker / merlot colors and were given the name "clinkers." They were originally discarded, but architects in 1900 discovered these and used them to create distinctive and charming architectural detailing. The earthy quality was favored by
Arts & Crafts style designers.
Old World Clinkers
We have the last remaining coal fired kiln in existence that allows us to recreate the appearance of Old World Clinkers.
Extreme Radical Clinkers
These clinkers have an extreme radical volcanic texture that has more exaggerated features.
